STRENGTHENING PASTORS

TO STRENGTHEN CHURCHES

our mission

Poimen (“Shepherd”) Ministries is a ministry to senior or lead pastors for the purpose of strengthening the senior or lead pastor so the church he serves will be strengthened as well.  We believe when a pastor is strengthened and encouraged, the church will be likewise affected. Poimen Ministries is made up of seasoned, veteran pastors who are ready to connect with you.

  • I’ve known Terry for years. To me it makes a lot of sense for him to be a part of Poimen Ministries. Terry has a rich background in Calvary Chapel. As a pastor and worship leader over the years, Terry has “seen it all” as it relates to ministry. As a younger pastor, I have benefited from the years of experience that Terry has had. Every time I see him, he always has an encouraging word and an open ear. I know from experience that pastoring can be a lonely and extremely challenging ministry. It is so nice to know that there are godly men who are willing to offer advice, prayer, and just a listening ear.

  • It has been our privilege and joy to know John and Laura Cowan as ministry partners and friends for over 30 years. John is one of the wisest, most gifted, and most experienced pastors I’ve known in all of my years of civilian and military pastoral ministry. Their significant gifts of preaching, teaching, and worship leadership, are combined with an extensive ministry to individuals through counseling, mentoring, and hospitality. They are models the Lord has used both to encourage and to challenge us.

  • Larry has been my pastor since 1993. Although I have been a senior pastor for 14 years now, he is still my pastor and my source of wisdom and comfort when I feel like the ministry is spinning out of control. His patient, no nonsense approach has always been an inspiration to me. So much of what God has poured into me, He has poured through Larry.

  • I have known John since 1989 and have witnessed him minister to many people (disciples, interns and pastors), I being one of them. When John was pastoring at the church I now pastor, he was the ‘go to’ guy whenever there was a difficult situation in one of the church’s in the area. If there was a need for kind, truthful and thoughtful counsel you could count on him. I consider John to be a true under-shepherd, always wanting what is best for the sheep and the glory of the Lord. Many of us in ministry today owe a great debt of gratitude to him for the instruction and love we received from Christ through his ministry.

  • I have known Pastor Trip Kimball for over twenty years. In 1989 I asked him and his wife to join our ministry in the Philippines where we worked with thousands of pastors training them in how to study the Word. Trip left his church and moved his family to the Philippines and became a vital part of our ministry, working very effectively with pastors and leaders. He understands the issues pastors go through and knows how to encourage and strengthen them. He brings years of ministry experience and I highly recommend him to all.

  • I have known Gillett Doggett for over twenty years and in that time I have always seen the Lord Jesus all over his life. He has always been a friend to his brothers, a compassionate voice for the sinner, a good Shepherd and teacher to his flock, and a loving husband to his wife. Recently Gillett and his wife graced our fellowship with a visit … our church and my wife and I were very blessed and enriched by the time the spent with us
