Larry Anderson (now in heaven)
Larry, as a single man, received Jesus as Lord of his life in August of 1973 at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa while working as a staff photographer for the LA Times. He was baptized in the Spirit a few days later. Life was never the same after that Sunday.
On March 1, 1979 Larry (now married to Jeri with a six month old boy) started in Napa as an assistant pastor. Nine years and two assistant pastor positions later, he was called to pastor Calvary Chapel in Phelan, CA. Jeri and he served the Lord by serving the church body there for twenty-four years, retiring in January 2012. During those years, Larry, Jeri, and the church in Phelan were involved in ministry in many countries around the world, as well as by sending and supporting others.
Shortly after stepping aside from his ministry in Phelan, Pastor Larry joined the Poimen Ministries team, and along with Jeri, was a tremendous blessing wherever the Lord sent him.
On Tuesday, May 12, 2015, Pastor Larry went home to be with Jesus, passing into eternity while serving a pastor and church in Kosovo.
As we grieve the loss of our brother, we remember that:
"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints" (Psalm 116:15).
And "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).
Pastor Larry will be missed, as he was (and is) a tremendous pastor and brother in Christ.
